30th Street Industrial & Economic Corridor BID #37

Business Improvement District
A Business Improvement District (BID #37) was created in 2005 that includes much of the 30th Street Industrial Corridor.  2006 was the first year of operation for BID #37.  A BID is a special purpose district created at the request of business owners in a designated area of the city, to reinvigorate an area, attract new business and investment and improve the physical and business environment.  BIDs are funded through special assessments collected on an annual basis.  100% of the funds are returned to the BID for use at their discretion to improve the local business environment. 

BID #37 is governed by a Board of Directors and staffed by the 30th Street Industrial Corridor Corporation (ICC).  BID #37 provides several services to those within the BID #37 boundaries. Projects

Streetscaping:  In 2007, BID #37 hired Schreiber/ Anderson Associates to develop streetscape design guidelines for the district.  Click on the links to view Conceptual Designs and the Design Guidelines.

Banners:  One of the first visual impact projects planned by BID #37 was to install banners throughout the district.  The banners identify the area and provide aesthetic enhancements throughout the district.

Programs

Safety & Security Project Grants:  BID #37 recently established a Safety & Security Project Grant to assist BID businesses with safety and security initiatives that will have a positive impact on their business and the surrounding neighborhood.  Grant guidelines and an application are available here.

Graffiti Abatement Program:  Property owners in BID #37 may have graffiti removed at no charge.  If your property has graffiti on it and is located within the BID boundaries, contact the BID at (414) 444-4706.  A permission waiver will need to be completed by the property owner.  Once that is completed, BID #37 will work with its contractors to remove the graffiti.  A brochure on BID #37's Graffiti Abatement program is also available.

Street & Litter Cleaning:  Litter clean ups along major thoroughfares in BID #37 are scheduled April through October, weather permitting.  If you have a suggestion for an area for a clean-up or would like to volunteer, please call (414) 444-4706.
