History
The ICC was first conceptualized in 1989 by the Sherman Park Community Association and the business community to address concerns about the loss of companies and jobs in the area. The initial Board of Directors for the ICC was elected in 1990 and the ICC was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1991. In 2005, the ICC worked with businesses in the Corridor to create a Business Improvement District for the area.

The ICC has played an active role in planning initiatives for the corridor service area, providing technical assistance to businesses and securing funding for environmental remediation and redevelopment projects. This is accomplished through the ICC's collaborative partnerships with government entities, agencies and neighborhood and community development groups. As demonstrated through its past successes, the ICC can achieve its vision of restoring economic vitality to the 30th Street Corridor and the surrounding commercial and residential areas.
